Sarah has been working on climate and the energy transition since 2008, focused on building businesses and organisations that align positive climate impact with profit.
Currently, she is a Venture Partner at SET Ventures, a Venture Capital fund which invests in digital startups working for a carbon-free energy system. She also advises climate startups and investors on strategy and leadership.
Sarah spent a decade as CEO and co-founder of two climate startups. Most recently, she led Glowb, a UK residential solar startup. Her first business was Faro Energy, a clean energy finance firm that invests in commercial scale solar projects in emerging markets, primarily Brazil.
Prior to co-founding Faro, Sarah was the start-up Chief of Staff for the Global Commission on the Economy and Climate, a global coalition of world leaders, CEOs, heads of global institutions and researchers which launched the New Climate Economy report in 2014.
Previously, Sarah worked in commercial and strategic roles in the UK and then Australia for Climate Bridge, a carbon finance company which developed over 3GW renewable energy projects in China. Sarah started her career as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, where she specialised in climate finance and clean technology.
Sarah holds a BA and MMath in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge.
